Cities that are under 5G services

Airtel has given the green signal for the launch of its 5G services to eight different cities in India. Citizens using Airtel prepaid or postpaid connections in these cities will be able to use the revamped 5G telecommunication services starting today.

The cities include Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi, Bangalore, Gurugram, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Chennai. Airtel spokespersons have further gone on to say that the existing 4G SIMs in the smartphones will be compatible with the use of the 5G network.

This means that if you are a dweller in any of these cities and already have a 4G enabled SIM and your smartphone then you will be able to check out the all-new 5G network of Airtel.

How will users be benefitted from using the new 5G network?

5G or fifth-generation telecommunication services comes with some major improvements over its predecessor 4G. No doubt that one of the major benefits will be significantly faster uploading and downloading services.

To put the speed in perspective here is a simple example for you. according to experts 5G can give uploading and downloading speeds of up to 10 GB per second. If you are currently using the 4G network the maximum download speed that you get is just 150MB per second even if you are in a high connectivity zone.

Just to give you an idea of how fast and time-saving this can be, it would take just seven seconds for a 1GB full HD film to download. Whereas with your existing 4G services it would take around 40 minutes to complete the same task.

Just compare 7 seconds with 40 minutes and you will gain just a glimpse of how fast the 5G services can be over its predecessors.

It is not just the download speed that users will be benefitted from, it is also expected that the 5G services will be able to provide 4K streaming online along with enabling cloud computing with reduced latency. Further, faster services also mean enhanced and efficient location tracking services.

Wait to check out if your phone is enabled for using 5G services.

There is one thing that you need to know before you find out to check out if you connect your smartphone to 5G. and that is your smartphone’s compatibility to using the all-new 5G services. Till now there is only a handful of smartphones available in the market that you can use for experiencing the 5G services.

Surely now, in the upcoming months, as other telecom companies roll out their 5G services for the public too, the smartphone manufacturing companies such as Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, Realme, and others will be encouraged to come out with affordable 5G handsets for the masses.
